"With the current wash of watery electro grime which serves no purpose than to create some kind of weird symbolic exchange between the mainstream pop charts and some larger record companies' wallets, it's refreshing to hear some genuine gritty 8 bar grime coming out.
No record label seems to be pushing a new kind of grime sound harder than London's own OIL GANG RECORDS.
We had Oil Gang and DJ Spooky along to play at Wifey a couple of months ago and it was so new and weird and exciting that the whole thing was just eye-meltingly, brain-fryingly brilliant. So we begged for a mix and the main man behind Oil Gang Records kindly obliged, showing just how crazy that scene is right now.
